The Book of Ruth
The Book of Ruth - the Scroll of Ruth, one of the Five Megillot is remembered for the third division, or the Writings, of the Hebrew Bible. In most Christian ordinances it is treated as one of the chronicled books and set among Judges and 1 Samuel.
The book, written in Hebrew in the sixth fourth hundreds of years BC, recounts the Moabite lady Ruth, who acknowledges Yahweh, the God of the Israelites, as her God and acknowledges the Israelite individuals as her own. In Ruth, Ruth tells Naomi, her Israelite mother by marriage, "Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will remain. Your kin will be my kin and your God my God. Where you bite the dust I will pass on, and there I will be covered. May the Lord manage me, be it harshly, if even passing isolates you and me.
The book is held in regard by Jews who fall under the classification of Jews-by-decision, as is proven by the extensive presence of Boaz in rabbinic writing. The Book of Ruth additionally works ceremonially, as it is perused during the Jewish occasion of Shavuot
